Hailey Geldenhuis

Counselling Psychologist for adults and adolescents, with Career Counselling and Career assessment as additional services offered.

Hailey worked as a Registered Counsellor, prior to completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology at Nelson Mandela University in 2019. Her research thesis, entitled Abortion and the Role of Self-forgiveness, highlights her special interest in forgiveness and self-forgiveness. She is passionate about people and their journeys to psychological healing and believes that our stories shape us. However, it is our responsibility to choose in which way we will be shaped by our experiences and how we will make meaning out of past wounds or traumas.

Hailey predominantly works within the Transactional Analysis framework which focuses on past and present relationship dynamics where the impact of past wounds creates challenges within us and as a result, impacts our relationships with others. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) as skills-based approaches.

Hailey gravitates toward positive psychology interventions such as Solution-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy. She views the counselling relationship as a partnership where two people work towards a goal. Hailey believes that people already have the strengths and gifts to navigate challenges in life but may just need someone to walk with them on their journey to self-discovery and growth. She would like to walk that journey with you.
